Spontaneous camping trip

On Saturday, September 15, we woke up and decided to go camping because we had nothing else to do. Chad and Grant ran to the store for some last minute birthday shopping for Cole. I then ran to the store for some camping food. We loaded up and headed to the spot that Sarah and I found when the Woodruffs came to camp. It was extremley secluded and peaceful. The boys played around the site, collecting old shot gun shells and bullet casings, firewood and a lot of dirt. We played catch, took some nature walks and swung on the make shift swing we found at our campsite.

Of course, for dinner we roasted hot dogs and cooked foil dinners. For dessert we roasted marshmallows and snacked on Oreos and other yummy camp food. We bundled up the boys for bed, Chad told them a scarey story and then we tucked them in. It gave Chad and I some really quite time by the fire with the stars. It was chilly but really nice to be out in nature.

In the morning, which started at 6:30, we cooked up some shepard's pie, packed up our site and rushed home to get ready for church.
